Imphal, March 08, 2010: The Hill Tribal Council today said that the Moreh ICP Land owners (pattadars) will launch a series of agitations if their compensation money is not withdrawn by them by March 9. The statement signed by general secretary Ginsei Lhungdim of the council noted that the cheques issued by DC Chandel were later ordered to stop payment until further orders at the UBI Moreh.
It is against the will and desire of the land owners. If no positive response could get by the set deadline (March 9), the body will close NH-39 from midnight of the same day instantly and indefinitely, the statement warned.
