Dr Sangliana tours minority areas on Day-2
Imphal, February 06 2010: On the second day of his visit, National Commission for Minorities Chairman HT Sangliana visited Phayeng, Taothong and Phumlou villages and investigated the reported burning down of Meitei Christian churches in these areas today.
The Chairman was accompanied by a team of Manipur State Minorities Commission led by the Chairperson A Halim Chowdhury and Secretary MR Sheikh and others, said a press release of Manipur State Minorities Commission.
It added that Dr Sangliana noted down all the complaints from women, students, elderly people and assured that he would look into the matter at his best level and take up the matter with the Government.
Dr HT Sangliana will discuss the matter with top officials including the Chief Secretary and DGP before he leaves the State capital on February 9 .
