Zomi Namni Football knock-out begins (Updated Pictures)
Lamka, February 6, 2010: The knock-out phase of the Zomi Nam Ni football tournament begins today with more than 15 teams from the state in contention for the Rs 1 lakh top prize on offered. Today, the knock-out function was graced by Pu K. Thansang, ADC Churachandpur as the Chief Guest. The knock-out opening game was played between LSC and DOAK Yiripok and LSC won the match.
In Churachandpur, 16 clubs played for the top five spots and will compete against four state level teams including, YDO, DOAK Yairipok, NESU and KSC.
Clubs from Mizoram, teams from Jiribam sub-division and Ukhrul district will also participate.
The tournament recognized by AMFA and CDSA is being touted as the most prestigious tournament to ever in Churachandpur.
